A Rolls-Royce for the whole family: Maextro V800 stretches almost 5.5 meters

Chinese brand Maextro is preparing its second model. If the first car from the marque was the executive S800 sedan aimed at buyers of Bentley, Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce, the company is now entering the luxury minivan segment. The newcomer is called the Maextro V800.

The first images and details of the model surfaced in the database of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Maextro is a joint project between JAC Group and Huawei within the HIMA alliance. The same structure also includes Aito, Stelato, Luxeed and other brands that share common hardware and software solutions.

In terms of size, the V800 turned out to be a true giant. The minivan’s length comes to just 5 mm short of 5.5 meters. The wheelbase measures 3.43 meters. That makes the V800 even slightly longer than the S800 sedan, although the difference comes down to just a few centimeters.

So far, only the specifications of the plug-in hybrid version have been disclosed. It includes a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 173 hp. Judging by the source description, it mainly works as a generator to charge the battery — in other words, this is an EREV setup. The vehicle’s minimum weight is 3,120 kg, and the cabin seats seven.

The V800 is expected to get a 65 kWh battery, the same as in the hybrid versions of the Maextro S800. In the S800 sedan, that pack is paired with a 1.5-liter engine producing 218 hp and two or three electric motors, for a combined output of either 530 or 863 hp. These figures have not yet been confirmed for the V800.
