Volkswagen ID.3 Neo UK Price and Specs 2026: Batteries, Range and Charging

Volkswagen ID.3 Neo has landed with UK pricing: the brand’s official site lists a starting price of £33,080. Under the UK Electric Car Grant of £1,500, the entry price can drop to £31,580 if the specific configuration qualifies for the scheme. Volkswagen includes the ID.3 Neo among the models eligible for the grant.

Price is only part of the update. The ID.3 Neo is the deepest overhaul the electric hatchback has had since launch. Volkswagen officially confirms three batteries — 50, 58 and 79 kWh — and three power outputs: 170, 190 and 231 hp. All of them are rear-wheel drive and use a new evolution of the MEB+ platform. Maximum range reaches 630 km on the WLTP cycle.

Charging speed depends on the battery. For the 50 and 58 kWh versions, Volkswagen quotes up to 105 kW DC, while the top 79 kWh battery accepts up to 183 kW.

But the biggest change is what the driver touches every day. Physical buttons for key functions are back, along with a redesigned steering wheel and a new cockpit architecture. The UK spec includes a 12.9-inch central display, and Volkswagen directly ties the changes to more intuitive controls.

Volkswagen spent months building up to this reversal: back in spring, the company admitted the old ID.3 and ID.4 logic had missteps, criticized for cluttered interfaces and touch-sensitive controls. The ID.3 Neo was still in preparation to become the first model under the new approach.

There are new features too, unrelated to the interface directly. One Pedal Driving lets the car slow to a complete stop using just the accelerator pedal, Connected Travel Assist can factor in traffic light signals, and Vehicle-to-Load turns the traction battery into a power source for external devices. Through an adapter, up to 3.6 kW is available.

The ID.3 Neo itself isn’t an August world premiere. SPEEDME.RU had been tracking preparations for the updated version as early as March, and the official world debut took place on April 15. The new hook here is the UK price and concrete market terms.

Price is what makes the UK launch telling: the outgoing ID.3 is still listed by Volkswagen UK from £30,860, while the Neo starts at £33,080. Buyers are mainly paying for more efficient hardware, more range, and a completely reworked ergonomics — in other words, for fixing the very issues that have dogged the ID.3 for almost its entire career.
