Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pure 2027: Price, Power and Range Explained

Volkswagen has lowered the entry point into the standard ID. Buzz lineup: the current Pure trim in Germany is priced at €52,270.75 — roughly $60,500 at current exchange rates. It’s also more powerful than the outgoing version: instead of 170 hp, it now makes 190 hp, while the German ADAC catalog shows a base price cut of about €2,041, or 3.8%.

The main technical change is hidden under the floor. The Pure gets a 58 kWh battery with LFP cells and a rear-mounted 140 kW electric motor. WLTP range reaches 359 km (223 miles). Maximum fast-charging power is capped at 105 kW, though Volkswagen quotes 26 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%.

There’s an important caveat to the “cheapest ID. Buzz” claim. In the current German configurator, the special Freestyle version costs even less — €49,997, using the same 58 kWh pack. The gap to the Pure is €2,272. So the Pure is more accurately described as the new standard base trim, not the family’s absolute price floor.

At the same time, Volkswagen is expanding the top of the lineup. An ID. Buzz update with 4MOTION all-wheel drive rated at 340 hp, one-pedal mode and V2L functionality was already announced this spring; those vehicles belong to a different price and technical tier.

For the ID. Buzz, the Pure change looks more significant than a routine trim reshuffle: buyers get an extra 20 hp and a lower price, but the smaller battery keeps this version primarily a city, commuter and family option for those who don’t need maximum range. Volkswagen’s official German configurator already lists the Pure as orderable.
