Ford Bronco New Energy Australia 2027: Price, Range and Launch Timing

A deleted dealer page in Brisbane has become the clearest signal yet of an Australian launch for the Ford Bronco New Energy. According to Drive, Metro Ford opened an expression-of-interest form for the “2027 Bronco,” showed a darkened image of the Chinese model with a Coming Soon tag, and then took the page down. Ford Australia has not published a separate official announcement.

This marks an important shift in the story’s status. Back in May, reports said the Bronco New Energy was expected in Australia in late 2026 or early 2027, though the company itself said it had nothing to announce about the future lineup.

Australians won’t get the American body-on-frame Bronco tied to the Ranger and Everest. The Chinese vehicle is built by the JMC Ford joint venture on a unibody platform, measures 5,025 mm long with a 2,950 mm wheelbase, and seats five. China offers both an all-electric and an EREV version, but reports so far point to Australia getting only the EREV. The electric version makes 332 kW — about 451 hp — and 575 Nm, runs a 105.4 kWh battery, and claims up to 650 km on the CLTC cycle.

The EREV pairs a 1.5-liter turbo gas engine acting as a generator with two electric motors delivering a combined 310 kW, or about 421 hp. A 43.7 kWh battery provides up to 220 km of electric range, with total range reaching 1,220 km CLTC. These figures reflect the Chinese specification — Australian versions haven’t been detailed yet.

Pricing is also too early to call settled. Drive estimates a possible Australian range of roughly 60,000–70,000 Australian dollars. In China, Ford officially lists a starting price of 229,800 yuan. A direct comparison is loose given taxes, certification, and market-specific equipment.

The Bronco name is now especially easy to mix up. For the classic American body-on-frame SUV, Ford is separately preparing a hybrid powertrain, while the Chinese New Energy is a standalone vehicle with a different platform and EREV architecture. Another separate Bronco branch is planned for Europe: Ford intends to build its SUV there in Valencia starting in 2028.

The next confirmation of the Australian launch should come not from a dealer page but from a Ford Australia release with an exact date, lineup, and official pricing. Until then, it’s more accurate to say the Bronco New Energy’s appearance at a dealer sharply raises the odds of a 2027 sale launch, without replacing a manufacturer announcement.
