Hyundai Exter Knight Edition 2026: Price and What's Different

Hyundai wants ₹15,000 (roughly $174) for the Exter Knight over an equivalent regular trim — a fixed surcharge that works out differently depending on the variant. On the base HX6 MT it’s about 1.9% of the price, on the range-topping HX10 AMT it’s closer to 1.6%. There’s no extra hardware for that money — Knight is first and foremost a visual personalization pack.

The version for the updated Exter starts in India at ₹814,000, or roughly $9,450 at current exchange rates. The range-topping HX10 with AMT costs ₹9.61 lakh — about $11,150. Hyundai already lists Knight across the current Exter lineup, where petrol variants come with either a manual gearbox or AMT, alongside CNG versions.

The upcharge shows up on the outside: black Hyundai badges and Exter lettering, dark bumper trim, 15-inch wheels finished in black or dark grey, and red front brake calipers. Inside, the standard blue-grey theme gives way to an all-black cabin with bronze accents and amber footwell lighting.

The mechanicals stay untouched. Hyundai’s official catalog confirms the Exter runs a 1.2-liter petrol engine making 83 hp and 113.8 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT. CNG is offered only with the manual gearbox; the HX6 CNG configuration is also part of the factory variant matrix.

The approach isn’t a one-off for India. In April, Hyundai rolled out the Venue Knight with similarly blacked-out trim and the same visual-upcharge logic, and in July Tata launched a Jubilee Edition package for the Sierra that boosts the appeal of specific trims without changing the car’s underlying concept.

The Exter itself saw a bigger change on March 20, 2026, when Hyundai gave the model an update with more than 25 revisions and reshuffled the HX lineup. So the current Knight isn’t another facelift — it’s a way to monetize the look of the already-updated car. For a fixed ₹15,000, the buyer effectively pays 1.6–1.9% of the car’s price for a distinct appearance, without moving to a different engine or a pricier trim level.
