2027 Kia Sportage Pricing: LX Starts at $28,990, X-Line Gains Standard Features

The base 2027 Kia Sportage picked up just a $200 price increase for the new model year. In the US, the LX FWD trim now costs $28,990. The mandatory $1,495 destination fee brings the minimum out-the-door price to $30,485. Every comparable gas trim except the X-Line rose by that same $200.

The X-Line tells a more interesting story. Its price climbed from $33,090 to $34,790 — a $1,700 jump at first glance. But the 2026 price sheet listed a $1,500 X-Line Premium package that added a panoramic sunroof and a Smart Power Liftgate. Those two items are now standard. So a comparably equipped 2026 X-Line with the package actually cost $34,590, making the real difference just $200 — the same increase as everywhere else. The 2027 lineup also adds a new Road Rider Brown color with a two-tone roof.

Kia isn't claiming any major technical overhaul: the automaker says most of the gas engine lineup carries over unchanged. The gas Sportage uses a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated GDI engine rated at 187 horsepower paired with an 8-speed automatic, with front- or all-wheel drive available. In short, buyers are mostly paying for the model year and reshuffled equipment, not a new engine or transmission.

The more interesting comparison is with the hybrid. The 2027 Sportage HEV starts at $30,590 before destination. That's only $1,600 more than the base gas LX. The PHEV costs considerably more, starting at $40,590. The regular hybrid, then, turns out to be the closest price-wise alternative to the base gas Sportage.

American MSRP figures don't translate directly to other markets, where shipping, import duties and local pricing structures change the final cost substantially. Still, the US starting price of $28,990 is a useful reference point for the Sportage's factory-level pricing worldwide.
