Opel Corsa GSE 2026: price, range, power and specifications

The Opel Corsa GSE delivers 281 hp, reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and offers up to 374 km WLTP range. German prices start at €39,900.

The Opel Corsa GSE 2026 has become the quickest-accelerating production car in the brand’s current range. The electric hot hatch produces 281 hp and 345 Nm, reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and tops out at 180 km/h. Orders are already open in Germany, with prices starting at €39,900.

The difference from the regular electric Corsa is also clear in the price. The entry-level 156 hp Corsa Electric Edition currently starts at €31,940 in Germany, so the minimum premium for the GSE is €7,960. The comparison is not exact because the equipment levels differ, while the sportier version comes as standard with Alcantara-trimmed seats, adaptive cruise control, navigation, a rear-view camera and keyless access.

281 hp and 5.5 seconds to 100 km/h: what changed underneath

The extra power required major chassis changes. The front-wheel-drive Corsa gets a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential, lowered sports suspension with hydraulic bump stops and four-piston Alcon brakes. It rides on 18-inch wheels with 215/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Corsa GSE range: 374 km WLTP versus 424 km for the regular version

The trade-off for the extra performance is range. A 54 kWh battery, of which 51 kWh is usable, provides up to 374 km on the WLTP cycle. For comparison, the regular Corsa Electric with a 156 hp motor is rated at up to 424 km in the German configurator. That leaves the GSE with roughly 50 km less official range. Charging from 20 to 80% takes around 27 minutes under suitable conditions.

V2L, cargo space and the Corsa GSE premiere in Paris

There is also an unusual feature for a hot hatch: V2L allows external electrical equipment to be powered from the Corsa GSE’s traction battery, although a separate adapter is required. Cargo capacity remains in line with other electric Corsa variants at 267 to 1042 liters. The production Corsa GSE is due to make its show premiere in October at the Paris Motor Show.
