At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Subaru unveiled the Performance‑E STI Concept, the brand’s first fully electric sports car that channels the spirit of the WRX and STI nameplates.

The design is unapologetically aggressive: a wide body with pronounced arches, sharp headlamps, large hood intakes, and a thoroughly worked aero package. At the rear, a split spoiler and a continuous light bar give the car a muscular, purposeful stance.

Subaru said the concept features all-wheel drive with two electric motors, one for each axle, while exact specifications remain undisclosed. The company presented the project as a signpost for how its performance lineup will evolve in the electric era.

Inside, Subaru describes generous space and straightforward controls. It added that the STI philosophy carries over in a new guise—expressed through instant responses and handling that follows the driver’s intent.

Even if the car still looks exploratory, the Performance‑E STI quickly became one of the show’s talking points. The proportions suggest serious intent, and the message is clear: Subaru aims to carry its performance DNA into an electric future.
