While Tesla sales tumbled across much of Europe in early 2025, Norway saw a 24% year-on-year increase, making it the company’s second-largest market in the region. The refreshed Model Y, introduced in March, and a lower-priced variant in May fueled demand. A promotional push with zero-interest financing and free Supercharging spurred a 213% jump in monthly registrations.

Tesla’s deep roots in Norway date back to 2013, when it launched the Model S and built its first Supercharger network outside North America. That infrastructure and early market entry fostered exceptional brand loyalty. Despite mounting criticism of Elon Musk’s political stances, many Norwegian drivers prioritize charging convenience and seamless tech over reputational concerns.

Yet competition is heating up, with VW, Volvo, and Chinese automakers gaining traction. Whether Norway’s loyalty to Tesla will last remains an open question.
