RM Sotheby’s is set to auction a true end-of-an-era symbol—the last Ferrari fitted with a manual gearbox. The car is a 2012 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, chassis no. 187007, the final manual-transmission model to roll out of Maranello.

This isn’t just a rarity; it marks a turning point. After this car, Ferrari moved entirely to automated and automatic gearboxes. Only 30 examples of the 599 GTB were produced with a manual, and this one is the last. It also comes in HGTE (Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione) specification, edging it closer in character to the track-inclined 599XX and GTO.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 rated at 612 hp and 608 Nm of torque. The HGTE package brings a lower ride height, stiffer springs, a strengthened anti-roll bar, lighter wheels, and an upgraded exhaust.

The car was ordered by a client from Hong Kong, collected in person at the factory, and it bears Luca di Montezemolo’s signature. Inside, there’s Cuoio leather paired with carbon-fiber trim, and a factory plaque on the shelf stating it is the final 599 GTB manual.

After a brief spell in Hong Kong, the car was shipped to Japan, where it took part in the Ferrari Cavalcade. The odometer shows just 6,600 km. In 2025 it underwent servicing in London and is now ready for sale.

RM Sotheby’s expects it to fetch between £750,000 and £850,000 (about $1 million). More than a collectible, this Ferrari reads like the closing page of Maranello’s manual-supercar story—and a clear reminder of why a hands-on shift still matters.
