Toyota has refreshed its best-selling midsize pickup: the 2026 Tacoma arrives this winter with a starting price of $32,145. It remains in its fourth generation and continues on the TNGA-F platform shared with the Tundra and Land Cruiser, a sensible decision that keeps the truck tough and familiar.

As before, two powertrains are on offer: a 2.4-liter turbocharged i-FORCE rated at 278 hp and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid with 326 hp. An 8-speed automatic handles shifting, a straightforward pairing that fits the Tacoma’s brief.

The lineup spans SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter. For 2026, the TRD Off-Road gets a black badge and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, which sharpen its stance. The TRD Pro adds two new colors—Heritage Blue and the exclusive Wave Maker—along with reinforced underbody protection, a welcome addition for hard use.

The Trailhunter keeps its serious off-road kit: Old Man Emu dampers, a raised air intake, and 33-inch Goodyear tires. The most meaningful technical change lands with the Limited, which now includes AVS adaptive suspension as standard—an upgrade that should make everyday driving calmer without dulling capability.

Maximum towing remains unchanged at nearly three tons, with payload up to 773 kg. The flagship TRD Pro starts at $64,350, and its exclusive color will be available only in March.
