German automaker Mercedes-Benz has initiated a recall for two separate issues affecting the side airbag systems in CLA models. The first issue involves the side airbag wiring. Vehicles built from April 2024 through October 2025 inclusive are included. In total, 459 cars are subject to this action, 131 of them registered in Germany. The core problem is incorrectly connected cabling that could compromise the operation of the side airbags. The second recall targets a limited batch of CLA vehicles produced between July and August 2025. In this case, 53 cars are potentially affected, including 9 registered in Germany. The reason is a manufacturing defect in the fabric used for the shells of the side airbag cushions, a flaw that diminishes passenger protection in a crash. The company urges owners of the vehicles in question to contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz service center without delay for diagnostics and remedial work. With safety systems like airbags, acting promptly is the prudent move.
