Citroën’s rare ‘stop-drive’ recall has been expanded to include C4 and DS4 models built between 2010–2011, as well as DS5 cars from 2010–2013, affecting an additional 9,968 vehicles. This follows earlier action impacting around 120,000 C3 and DS3 models over potentially dangerous airbags.

The expanded recall increases pressure on Citroën’s dealer network, now supported by Peugeot, which has been authorised to carry out airbag replacements alongside at-home repair options. Stellantis says its goal is to replace all affected airbags «as swiftly as possible,» though doubts remain over meeting the previous target of completion by next month.

Consumer group Which? has criticised Stellantis for a «chaotic» handling of the situation and a lack of clarity on compensation, with many owners facing significant disruption after losing access to their only vehicle.
