The upcoming Genesis GV60 Magma — the brand’s first electric performance car — has been caught testing in Arizona, marking its first appearance on US soil. Sporting a prominent rear spoiler, reworked front fascia, performance-focused wheels, and upgraded brakes, the prototype signals Genesis’s intent to challenge the high-performance EV market.
As the debut model of the new Magma sub-brand, the GV60 Magma is expected to feature dual-motor all-wheel drive, enhanced battery and motor tuning, revised suspension for track use, and exclusive Magma styling cues. While the official reveal was initially speculated to take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Genesis opted to delay the event, leaving room for the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N launch.
With its launch expected before year’s end, the GV60 Magma will take on rivals such as the Tesla Model Y Performance, Kia EV6 GT, and Ford Mustang Mach-E GT.
