Audi has officially reassured its employees and the market: the C-Sport electric sports car, the production version of the Concept C, remains on schedule for 2027. An internal letter from CEO Gernot Döllner confirmed that Porsche continues to supply key platform components, and cooperation between the teams is proceeding smoothly, despite a product line review by the partner. The concern stemmed from Bloomberg reports suggesting the possible cancellation of the electric Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman under the leadership of the brand's new head, Michael Leiter. Since the C-Sport was initially developed as a "relative" of the 718 EV, sharing the powertrain, battery, and PPE architecture, there were fears that the Audi project might also be axed. However, Döllner emphasized that the Porsche platform for Audi is not in question. The Concept C, which debuted at the Munich auto show, previewed the production design of the future electric replacement for the TT and a new brand philosophy. A dual-motor layout, a length of 4.35 meters, and a revised PPE architecture with the battery moved behind the seats enabled a lower seating position—a key element for a sports car.For Audi, the model holds strategic importance: it's the first vehicle under the direction of new chief designer Massimo Frascella, setting the visual direction for future models, including an updated grille and signature proportions.Despite debates over the electric architecture within the VW Group, Audi is showing confidence: the TT successor will launch precisely on time and become the centerpiece of the brand's sports lineup.
