Chinese automaker Leapmotor has launched a major internal anti-corruption campaign, encouraging employees to voluntarily disclose violations. This initiative affects the rapidly growing automotive sector and demonstrates tightening controls within companies.

In February, the company sent a letter to employees offering a "voluntary correction window." For one month, workers could report previously received illegal income and return funds without consequences. The program resulted in voluntary returns exceeding 10 million yuan. After the deadline, Leapmotor implemented a strict penalty system.

Penalties vary depending on the violation amount, ranging from warnings to court cases that could lead to over 10 years in prison and asset confiscation. Additionally, Leapmotor has started a reward program for corruption reports. Employees and partners can receive between 1,000 and 10 million yuan for credible information.

Separately, the company has opened an external hotline to combat "black PR," offering rewards up to 5 million yuan. Against the backdrop of the company's rapid growth—having already reached profitability and actively expanding sales—these measures become important management tools.

In the competitive landscape among top automakers, Chinese brands are strengthening business transparency controls. Such initiatives show the maturation of Chinese automotive companies. As businesses grow, increased oversight becomes inevitable, and these steps could strengthen investor and partner trust.
