General Motors has filed a patent for a system that transforms a vehicle into a communication tool with its surroundings. The technology enables messages to be displayed on the car's windows and facilitates interaction with people outside the cabin.

The system activates when the vehicle is parked. Using built-in equipment and a connected user device, it creates and displays messages visible to passersby. The owner can preview and approve the text before it appears. Messages can be generated automatically based on data such as location or schedule, or created manually. For instance, the system can offer a brief notification about the car's status.

It also includes a feedback feature: when someone approaches the car, they can leave a message for the owner. This can be recorded via a microphone, converted to text, and sent to the user's device. Message priority will be determined by urgency level. Additionally, the system can recognize emergency situations, including medical ones, and automatically display warnings for those nearby.

This development illustrates how new vehicles could gain digital interaction capabilities that extend beyond traditional driving.
