In a remarkable twist, artificial intelligence helped recover a stolen Lamborghini Huracan EVO in the United States. The supercar, owned by Andrew Garcia from Orange County, vanished nearly two years ago as part of a luxury car theft ring. The group allegedly manipulated rental agreements and paperwork to keep dozens of high-end vehicles and resell them with altered titles.

While other victims had their cars recovered, Garcia’s Lamborghini remained missing until he received an unusual Instagram message. The sender shared photos of the Huracan and asked if Garcia had sold it. Seeing an opportunity, Garcia fed the images into ChatGPT, cross-referenced the data with Google’s location tools, and narrowed down the car’s whereabouts.

His investigation led to Denver, Colorado, where police confirmed the vehicle was indeed his long-lost Lamborghini. Authorities praised the «proactive intelligence gathering,» noting it highlights how AI can assist in unconventional ways.

The case is not fully closed. Police in Colorado are still investigating who had possession of the car locally, while individuals tied to the original theft ring in California face criminal charges. One suspect has already been convicted, with sentencing pending, while another is due in court later this year.
