Although the Ford Taurus left the U.S. lineup in 2019, the sedan remains in production elsewhere, including China and the Middle East. An updated version is now being prepared for the latter—a logical step in markets where traditional three-box sedans still have a loyal audience. The manufacturer has released a teaser image of the refreshed Ford Taurus for Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan. On the outside, the four-door receives a revised front and rear, along with new headlights and wheel designs.Inside, the new Taurus is slated for significant changes: revised colors and materials, fresh seat trims, a redesigned center console, and a 13.2-inch infotainment display that is the largest in its class. The screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is paired with a new 360-degree camera available across all trims. The upscale Titanium trim adds a dedicated B&O audio system, while the Trend trim gains ventilated seats. The focus on cabin tech and touchpoints should make the refresh feel more substantial than a simple facelift. As for powertrains, nothing changes. Buyers will be able to choose either a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four rated at 239 hp and 382 Nm and mated to an eight-speed automatic, or a relatively new hybrid based on a 1.5-liter engine with a combined output of 185 hp. The approach favors proven hardware over sweeping mechanical overhauls, which fits the brief for a mid-cycle update.More details about the new Ford Taurus will be shared closer to its debut, which is scheduled to take place in a few months.
