Skoda’s plug-in hybrid Kodiaq is set to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2026. The newcomer will slot between the two popular petrol trims, bridging the gap from the lively Sportline at $61,990 to the range-topping RS priced at $76,999.Badged Kodiaq Select PHEV, the hybrid pairs a 1.5‑litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor rated at 85 kW. On electric power alone, it can cover up to 112 kilometres under the WLTP test cycle, a figure that positions the Kodiaq squarely among the more capable family-sized PHEVs.To accommodate the hybrid hardware, the manufacturer has removed the third row of seats. That change increases usable cabin space while trimming boot capacity to 745 litres, a touch below the standard models. Equipment levels align with the regular Select grade, enhanced by a suite of active safety tech and assisted driving features—a sensible blend for a family SUV.Beyond the base specification, buyers will be able to opt for the Signature pack, which adds extra comfort features and more advanced safety systems. Official pricing for the Kodiaq plug-in hybrid is yet to be announced, though experts expect it to land in the $65,000–$70,000 range, neatly maintaining its middle-ground positioning.
