FIAT revives the Multipla as an electric 3+3 MPV, based on a Citroën concept debuting December 10, 2025. Platform picks will signal EV-only or hybrid-ready

FIAT is bringing back the storied Multipla, the unconventional six-seat people carrier that once mixed bold styling with everyday practicality. Its return will be built on a new Citroën prototype set to be unveiled on December 10, 2025, a move that neatly fits Stellantis’s multi-brand playbook.

Citroën is preparing a compact electric MPV about 4.1 meters long, designed to seat six in a 3+3 arrangement. That layout is a direct nod to the late-1990s FIAT Multipla, while the underlying platform is intended to support versions for different Stellantis marques. In a segment where space is everything, a true three-abreast front row can be a smart way to extract more usability from a short footprint.

Citroën will go first, showing a concept that introduces the brand’s next design language and hints at the future C3 Picasso. FIAT, in turn, will develop its own take: a modern, roomy, fully electric Multipla. Rolling out a concept ahead of production metal often helps audiences warm up to unusual proportions—and here, the format itself is the headline.

The model is expected to use the STLA Small architecture adapted for electric drivetrains, or the more flexible Smart Car platform that can also support hybrids. Whichever path Stellantis chooses, the platform decision will quietly signal how hard the group plans to lean into pure EVs versus keeping a foot in mixed powertrains.
