Series production of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is underway in Saxony, with cars rolling off the lines at the Zwickau plant and at Dresden’s Transparent Factory. Developed in collaboration with the BOGNER FIRE+ICE sportswear label, part of Munich-based BOGNER, the special edition nods to the legendary Golf II Fire and Ice that unexpectedly became a 1990s hit and now enjoys cult status among brand loyalists. In Germany, prices start at €56,020. The limited run underscores its exclusive pitch. The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE comes with two power options: 210 kW (286 hp) or 240 kW (326 hp). In both cases, the electric motor delivers a peak 545 Nm of torque. In its more powerful tune, the ID.3 GTX sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and is electronically reined in only at 200 km/h. On paper, that reads as a brisk compact EV with genuine motorway stamina. The sporty DCC chassis is part of the standard specification for this model and is offered as an option on the 210 kW version. Energy comes from a 79 kWh (net) lithium-ion battery that can charge at up to 185 kW on DC fast stations; at that rate, going from 10 to 80 percent takes about 26 minutes. WLTP range is up to 591 km, a package that points to long legs and short charging stops.
