The BMW XM, produced since 2022 at the Spartanburg plant in the USA, now has an extreme version from German tuning house Manhart. Called the MHXM 900, this project is based on the M division's crossover and features comprehensive exterior and powertrain modifications.Under the hood lies a hybrid setup centered on a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. With the addition of an MHtronik control unit and a new exhaust system, power has been boosted to 900 metric horsepower (887 hp, 662 kW), while torque reaches 1,200 Nm. For context, the standard BMW XM Label Red produces 738 hp and 1,000 Nm.Manhart offers two exhaust options: its own stainless-steel system with adjustable valves, or an Akrapovic variant. The suspension has been lowered with H&R; springs. Visually, the crossover sports carbon-fiber bodywork, including a new hood, splitter, widened side skirts, a diffuser, a roof spoiler, and an additional element below the rear window. It rides on 24-inch wheels wrapped in 295/30 tires at the front and 355/25 tires at the rear.With this power upgrade, the tuned XM enters territory occupied by performance SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus and Ferrari Purosangue. Manhart has not yet released performance figures for the MHXM 900.
