Ford has unveiled a significant update for the electric Explorer for the 2026 model year. The key change involves switching the Standard Range version to an LFP battery, boosting its WLTP range by over 17% to 444 km. The electric motor is now more powerful, delivering 140 kW (190 hp) and 350 Nm, enabling the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds.

The technology roster has also grown. The Explorer EV now features intelligent adaptive cruise control with traffic light recognition, Trained Park Assist, Reversing Assist, driver condition monitoring, and a standard one-pedal driving mode. A new Pro Power Onboard function provides up to 2.3 kW of external power for tools or accessories.

The SYNC Move multimedia system runs on a new Android platform and uses a 14.6-inch screen with adjustable positioning, along with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford has also added a Travel Pack and enhanced connectivity features.

At the same time, a limited-edition Explorer Collection has debuted. This model stands out with its Cactus Grey paint, black roof, 20-inch Satin Black wheels, and decorative graphics. Inside, it features a Black Onyx interior with orange accents, unique 2D fabric, and distinctive panel trim.

Overall, the updated Explorer EV strengthens Ford's position in the European market by combining an extended range, a more powerful powertrain, and a noticeable stylistic refresh.
