The DS brand, part of the Stellantis group, is considering launching a new compact model that could become a key element in its strategy to revive sales. DS CEO Xavier Peugeot has hinted at a possible return of the legendary DS3 concept—a small, stylish car that was once one of the brand's most successful products. He noted that compact models often become market icons, citing examples like the Renault 5 and Mini.

The new model could be built on the promising STLA Small platform, which supports both electric and hybrid powertrains. This would allow DS to adapt to current market demands and offer a more accessible product.

At the same time, the brand is deliberately moving away from the idea of yet another compact crossover, as there is already high competition within Stellantis in this segment from models by Peugeot, Opel, and Citroen.

The situation for DS remains challenging: in recent years, the company has barely updated its model lineup, which has negatively impacted sales. Now, the brand is trying to change this through new models, including the DS No7 and DS No8.

In this context, the potential launch of a compact car could be more than just another new release for DS—it might be a strategic move that shapes the brand's future in the premium segment.
