Lincoln has revised its strategy and made rear-wheel drive standard across all 2027 Navigator trims. This includes the Premiere, Reserve, and Black Label models, as well as the extended Navigator L variant.Previously, the Navigator was offered exclusively with all-wheel drive. For the new model year, 4WD is now an optional upgrade. The shift to standard RWD also affects available equipment. For instance, the Heavy Duty Trailer Tow package is now only offered on AWD versions and is not available for base configurations.Beyond the drivetrain changes, updates include a refreshed exterior color palette, with some shades removed and new ones added. The top-tier Black Label trim also gets a new interior theme. These changes signal a move by the manufacturer to reintroduce configuration diversity, stepping back from its previous push for standardization. This could influence buyer decisions, especially in the competitive 2026 luxury SUV segment where both pricing and equipment options are key considerations.
