Mercedes-Benz is broadening its electric lineup with the debut of the GLC EQ at IAA Mobility in Munich, a rollout previously covered by SPEEDME. The base GLC 400 4Matic pairs two motors for a combined 490 hp, uses a 94 kWh battery and targets up to 713 km of range, with charging power of up to 330 kW. The spec sheet points to a long-range focus without giving up on pace.According to the JesMB portal, four more versions are in the pipeline: a rear-wheel-drive model rated at 367 hp, an AMG variant with more than 544 hp, and two options using a more affordable 64 kWh LFP battery. The longest reach—up to 735 km—is expected from the rear-drive setup with an enlarged battery, the clear efficiency play in the lineup.Inside, three screen configurations are planned: standard 10.25- and 14-inch displays, a Superscreen with an additional passenger screen, and a range-topping 39.1-inch Hyperscreen. The breadth of layouts underlines how central in-car tech has become to the brand’s appeal.Orders for the new Mercedes GLC EQ are set to open by year’s end, with production slated to start in Bremen in 2026 and first deliveries planned for spring of the same year. For buyers weighing new 2025 models, the newcomer could prove a real contender among premium electric crossovers.
