The 2027 Cadillac Lyriq will receive a major change to its onboard charging setup, with the electric crossover gaining a new charge port based on the North American Charging Standard, NACS.

The new NACS port will replace the CCS1 connector used before the 2027 model year and aligns with General Motors’ broader shift from CCS to NACS. NACS, developed by Tesla, is quickly becoming the dominant charging interface for electric vehicles in North America.

The update puts the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq alongside several other GM electric vehicles with NACS support and marks a notable change in charging access and day-to-day convenience for customers. General Motors is already rolling out NACS across other EVs, while the Cadillac Optiq became the first GM electric vehicle to include NACS as standard equipment. Other models already using, or set to use, NACS include the new 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, 2027 Cadillac Vistiq and 2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV.

With the move to NACS, these vehicles will gain access to a broader public charging network, including the extensive Tesla Supercharger infrastructure. Despite the transition, GM will continue to support charging through CCS adapters, allowing owners of the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq to use existing Level 2 CCS home chargers and public charging stations.
