BMW Hungary organised a large-scale test drive of the new electric iX3. From 20 to 23 April, the team set up a fleet of 10 crossovers in Mariavölgy, all in the iX3 50 xDrive trim. Almost 300 people took the wheel.

The model is already on sale in Europe and has gathered more than 50,000 orders since its launch in September 2025. Demand proved strong enough for BMW to add a second shift at the Debrecen plant ahead of schedule — this is exactly where cars for the European market are built.

The version currently available is the iX3 50 xDrive. The more affordable iX3 40 is due in the summer: a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive variant with a smaller battery. The event also showcased a car wearing M Performance Parts — a roof spoiler, front add-ons, a more pronounced rear diffuser and matte decorative elements.

In Hungary, more than 50 iX3s have already been delivered in the few weeks since the local launch. Pricing starts from HUF 34,037,000, or roughly EUR 93,200 — pushed up in part by Hungary's 27 percent VAT, the highest in the EU. Against other electric crossovers built for both city use and long trips, the new iX3 stands out because BMW has completely overhauled the technical basis: a Neue Klasse platform, the iDrive X interface and Gen6 batteries.
