The Chinese brand Mhero (Mengshi), owned by Dongfeng, officially unveiled at the Chengdu auto show a lineup of luxury SUVs aimed at competing with the Hummer EV, Mercedes G-Class, and Toyota Land Cruiser. The flagship is the Mhero 917, shown in fully electric form and as an EREV hybrid. The EV uses a three-motor setup delivering 600 kW (817 hp) and 1,050 Nm of torque, enough to move its nearly three-ton body with confidence. Range is up to 900 km, and maximum wading depth is 900 mm. The price is about 1.1 million yuan (roughly 12.4 million rubles), putting it in direct contention with the Tesla Cybertruck and Hummer EV.The more accessible option is the new Mhero ME17, a premium SUV for buyers who want a luxury off-roader without exaggerated “military” toughness. It keeps Mhero’s signature, sharply cut lines, but pairs them with a more elegant finish and richer materials inside. The cabin features a digital instrument panel, a large multimedia screen, and seats with premium upholstery—the result reads as a more approachable take on the brand’s design language.Pricing makes the ME17 especially tempting: the Pro version costs 309,900 yuan, while the range-topping Max is 349,900 yuan (around 3.5–4.2 million rubles). That makes it cheaper than the Land Cruiser Prado or Lexus GX at a comparable equipment level.Taken together, Mhero is emerging as a new face of China’s premium off-road segment, blending maximum tech, impressive power on tap, and prices that invite cross-shopping.
