Kia is putting its future halo model back on the development calendar: the GT1, a high-performance electric car. Industry outlets report that this grand tourer will succeed the popular Kia Stinger and is planned for a 2027 market launch.

The GT1 is expected to be larger than the Stinger and to serve as an image-forward flagship for Kia’s performance lineup. The brief is a classic grand tourer built for fast, long-distance travel and strong acceleration, now delivered by a fully electric powertrain. It reads as Kia using a pure-electric GT to anchor the brand’s sporting identity.

Technical specifications, platform details and target markets have not been disclosed. Even so, the halo role points to top-tier performance, technology and finish aimed at reinforcing Kia’s position among swift electric coupes and liftbacks.

A 2027 debut for the GT1 would be a key step in Kia’s electrification strategy and a logical continuation of the Stinger’s legacy—the model that once opened the brand’s door to driver-focused cars.
