At SEMA 2025, Nissan is set to surprise the crowd again: tuning outfit Forsberg Racing will unveil a special Nissan Patrol turned into a 1,000-horsepower off-road monster. Under the hood of the classic two-door 1990 Patrol sits a reworked 4.8-liter inline TB48 with turbocharging, an upgraded intake, an intercooler, and a new engine management unit.Instead of the Skyline-style solutions you might expect, this build uses a manual gearbox and a transfer case to send the power to all four wheels. The suspension is based on Nismo Off-Road hardware and augmented with remote-reservoir shocks, while 17-inch wheels wear 35-inch off-road rubber. The choice of a manual and a transfer case clearly signals intent: control and toughness take priority here. The exterior stays faithful to the Patrol’s original look, but adds a racing-style livery, extra lighting, and Recaro bucket seats inside. Unlike the Infiniti QX80 R Spec, this Patrol isn’t aimed at the track—it’s built for serious off-road use, which suits the nameplate’s heritage.Alongside it, Forsberg Racing will show the Nismo GT-Z, a racing version of the Nissan Z for the Gridlife GT series. The car features suspension and components from the Nismo catalog, plus a tuned turbocharged engine—an effective counterpoint that showcases Nismo’s competition focus.
