Omoda’s flagship C7 crossover has successfully passed the renowned moose test, showcasing precise handling and solid composure. The trials were conducted in the summer of 2025 at Beijing’s New Ski Airport facility and demonstrated that the vehicle can swerve around obstacles at 78 km/h.

The moose test gauges a car’s ability to avoid sudden hazards such as pedestrians or animals and sets a high bar for the suspension, steering, and stability systems. Any misstep in tuning can lead to failure. The Omoda C7 cleared the exercise cleanly: the steering responded accurately to even small inputs, while the adaptive suspension kept body roll in check.

Safety here isn’t just about dynamics. The crossover features eight airbags, an intelligent ADAS suite, and a camera system. Its cameras and a “transparent underbody” function remove blind spots, while the assistants help keep the lane, brake in emergencies, and adapt to congestion.

Passing the moose test is a telling sign that the Omoda C7 is more than a striking-looking crossover; safety is clearly front and center. It also underscores the brand’s ambition to build models ready to challenge established market leaders.
