Toyota is expanding the Land Cruiser 250 lineup in Europe with two new variants. The VX and VX-L trim levels will sit at the top of the range and launch in spring 2026.

VX – Focus on Off-Road Capability

The VX variant is geared toward off-road performance, featuring an electronic rear differential lock, a sway bar disconnect system, and a suite of terrain management aids. It also includes Crawl Control, Downhill Assist, and a terrain monitor. This model rides on 18-inch wheels and introduces a new Smoky Blue exterior color.

VX-L – Emphasis on Comfort and Technology

The VX-L prioritizes comfort and tech, adding power-adjustable seats with heating and ventilation, a premium JBL audio system with 14 speakers, and a head-up display.

It also gets a digital rearview mirror and a Torsen differential. With 20-inch wheels, this version underscores its more road-oriented, premium character.

Powertrains and Positioning

In Western Europe, all Land Cruiser 250 variants come with a 48-volt hybrid system. Eastern Europe offers conventional options: a 2.8-liter diesel and a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. Both new trims are available with a seven-seat layout and feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Toyota Smart Connect multimedia. This move broadens the model's appeal from off-road enthusiasts to family buyers. Overall, Toyota is sharpening the Land Cruiser 250's positioning, creating a clearer divide between a utilitarian off-roader and a comfortable SUV for daily use.
