Ford is dealing with another large-scale service campaign in the U.S. The NHTSA says the company is recalling 229,609 Ford Bronco SUVs over a potential instrument-cluster failure. Critical information—speed, alerts, and warning indicators—can disappear from the display. The remedy is a software update, installed at dealerships or delivered over the air (OTA) at no cost to owners. Given how much drivers depend on clear gauges, an OTA push should keep downtime to a minimum.

That’s not the only issue. Ford is separately recalling 20,558 hybrid models due to defects in high-voltage battery cells that can lead to a complete loss of battery function. As production of hybrids and EVs grows, episodes like this draw sharper attention: HV-pack repairs or replacements are expensive, and the consequences of a failure are serious. It’s a pointed reminder that quality control has to keep pace as battery components scale up.
