British firm Eagle, renowned for its bespoke Jaguar E-Type restomods, has unveiled the new summit of its range: the extreme Lightweight GTR. Evolving the earlier Lightweight GT, it pushes further toward a pure racing temperament. The car targets clients who want the most authentic yet contemporary take on the E-Type legend. With a kerb weight of 975 kilograms, it is more than a third lighter than the original roadster and feels markedly more urgent. The body has been comprehensively reworked: a lower roofline, bespoke glazing, hidden seals and jewel-precise panel gaps underscore the hand-built approach. Details such as an aluminum fuel cap, integrated toggle switches and badges finished beneath clear coat create a distinct visual language. At the heart sits an all-aluminum, naturally aspirated 4.7-liter inline engine with triple Weber carburetors and a titanium connecting-rod set. The power-to-weight ratio exceeds 430 hp per ton, while a raised rev limit sharpens the engine’s driver-focused character. The chassis is no less carefully tuned: adjustable Öhlins dampers, titanium hubs and suspension components, and carbon-ceramic brakes with AP Racing calipers. Inside, the look channels minimalist race-car cues—aluminum seats, Alcantara, four-point harnesses and even an integrated fire-suppression system. Yet there are also amenities such as air conditioning, heating and sound insulation, keeping the car genuinely suitable for long journeys. Each GTR is built to a client’s specification, ensuring every example is unique. The blend of lightness and meticulous engineering turns this celebrated sports car into one of the most compelling restomods of our time.
