General Motors has launched a new customer satisfaction program that covers a portion of 2025 Cadillac Optiq electric crossovers.

According to service bulletin N252525760, certain vehicles may experience a fault in the drive motor power distribution control module, a key part of the electric propulsion system. The module manages how electricity is routed to one or more motors, directly influencing powertrain operation.

GM notes the issue affects a limited number of vehicles but does not disclose how many Optiq units are included. To correct the fault, dealers are instructed to replace the module with an updated component.

Repairs must be performed only at certified EV dealerships by technicians trained to work with high-voltage systems. The job is estimated at 5.1 hours, and GM will cover all costs.

Owners will not pay for parts or labor if their vehicle qualifies for the program. Because parts are limited, the automaker advises dealers not to build inventory ahead of time and to order components only after a customer requests service.

GM also requires all affected vehicles in dealer stock to be repaired before delivery to buyers. The program runs through December 31, 2027. The Cadillac Optiq was introduced in 2023 as the brand's most attainable EV and is built on GM's BEV3 platform. Production for the North American market takes place at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

Against the backdrop of growth in the 2026 car segment, campaigns like this have become an important way to sustain buyer confidence in new electric models. Presented as a Customer Satisfaction Program, it feels less alarming than a formal recall while serving the same purpose.

GM is showing it is ready to address potential risks early in the model's life cycle. For the new and important Optiq, that is crucial for reputation and a pragmatic step that helps build credibility with early owners.
