General Motors is rolling out native Apple Music integration to the infotainment systems of select 2025–2026 Chevrolet and Cadillac models. The key change is that the service runs directly in the car’s interface, no smartphone projection required. Activation calls for OnStar Basics and the latest software update; the app should appear automatically afterward. If it doesn’t, that vehicle isn’t on the supported list yet. The native setup trims an extra step compared with phone mirroring and should make everyday listening simpler.

On the Cadillac side, built-in Apple Music is listed for the CT5 (2025–2026), the electric Escalade IQ (2025), and the new Vistiq (2026). In the Vistiq, GM links the feature with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, signaling an emphasis on a more immersive in-cabin soundstage.

Chevrolet’s roster is broader: Blazer EV and Equinox EV (2025–2026), Silverado EV, plus the 2025 Corvette, Suburban, and Tahoe. The company says support will expand, naming the 2027-model-year Chevrolet Bolt as one of the next in line; it’s expected to arrive early next year. The mix prominently features the brand’s EVs, which makes sense for the latest infotainment platforms.

For now, the launch is limited to the U.S. and Canada. In those markets, GM promises no additional data-connection fees for up to eight years, though an Apple Music subscription is still required—you can use an existing account or start a new one from the car. That removes friction on the connectivity side while keeping the subscription piece straightforward.
